A cable has two plastic layers with different jobs. The insulation sits against the conductor and must resist electrical stress. The sheath is the outer jacket, and it takes the abuse: abrasion, moisture, sunlight and, in a fire, flame spread. That is why sheathing compounds come in several families rather than one.
PVC is the traditional choice. It is flexible, flame-retardant by nature and inexpensive, so it dominates building wire and low-voltage cable. Polyethylene sheath (MDPE or HDPE, usually black with carbon black for UV protection) is tougher and drier, and is used for outdoor, buried and telecom cable. Halogen-free, low-smoke compounds cost more, but they are required in tunnels, ships, hospitals and other places where smoke and acid gas in a fire are the real danger.
There is no cable compound grade listed here yet. If you need one, send the cable type and voltage, the standard it has to pass (IEC or a local one), the operating temperature, the colour and the monthly volume. We will check it against what Iranian producers make and come back with a datasheet or an honest no.
For the base resins, see polyethylene granules, and for related blends the polymer compounds category.Need a price or a datasheet Send the cable type, standard, colour and quantity via WhatsApp +98 912 640 4020 or our enquiry form. We usually reply within one business day.
